Postgraduate and doctoral studies
The entrance exam for postgraduate studies takes place in accordance with the “Rules for admission to postgraduate and doctoral studies of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute”” in the form of an individual written professional exam, which is accepted by the examination commission for a certain specialty, the composition of which is approved by order of the university rector.
The program includes the main sections of special disciplines taught to students of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” educational and qualification level specialist, educational level master’s degree in specialties of the direction “Information Technologies”: 121 “Software Engineering”, 122 “Computer Science and Information Technologies”, 123 “Computer Engineering”, 125 “Cybersecurity and Information Protection”.
Specialty — 123 "Computer Engineering"
Degree of higher education: Doctor of Philosophy
Educational qualification: Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Engineering
The official name of the educational and scientific program: Computer Engineering
Type of diploma and scope of educational and scientific program: Diploma of Doctor of Philosophy, single, volume of the educational component of the educational and scientific program – 45 ECTS credits, duration of study 4 years
Form of education: Full-time (full-time), part-time
Availability of accreditation: Certificate of accreditation: No. 2061, issued on July 29, 2021, based on the decision of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Education (protocol No. 13 dated July 27, 2021). Valid until July 1, 2027.
Cycle/level: HPK of Ukraine – 8th level, FQ-EHEA – third cycle, EQF-LLL – 8th level
Prerequisites: To obtain the educational and scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 123 “Computer Engineering”, persons who have obtained an educational master’s degree can enter. The program of professional entrance examinations for persons who have obtained a previous level of higher education in other specialties should provide for verification of the person’s acquisition of competencies and learning outcomes defined by the standard of higher education in the specialty 123 “Computer Engineering” for the second (master’s) level of higher education.
Language(s) of instruction: The language of instruction is the state language – Ukrainian. In order to create conditions for international academic mobility, a decision may be made to teach one or more subjects in English and/or other foreign languages
Validity of the educational and scientific program: Until the new educational and scientific program is put into effect.
The purpose of the educational and scientific program: Preparation of a highly qualified, competitive, integrated into the European and global scientific and educational space specialist with a doctorate degree in the field of information technologies, major 123 “Computer Engineering”, capable of independent research, scientific-organizational, pedagogical-organizational and practical activities in the fields of aviation, cosmonauts, mechanical engineering, information technologies, in related fields, as well as training in institutions of higher education.

Prerequisites: To obtain the educational degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 125 “Cybersecurity and Information Protection”, persons who have obtained the educational level of a master’s degree can apply.
